Listen to the messages left behind on telephones. For “050-5893-5336 Exhibit,” an interactive exhibition by Daiyonkyokai and PIA, RKADE developed and produced the technical systems behind the experience. I served as Technical Director and Lead Engineer, designing a system in which visitors could tap a telephone card to a reader and hear a message play through a nearby telephone. To make the experience work across different eras of communication technology, we modified a wide range of devices, from traditional rotary telephones to feature phones and smartphones, allowing each of them to function as part of the same interactive system. I was also responsible for the design and development of the card-reading devices, the venue network infrastructure, and part of the visual content used in the exhibition.
